Back in the glory days of the late 1990s and early 2000s, P.F. Chang's was a fresh concept with fresh food. Under it's most recent private equity owners it wasn't fresh by any stretch. Success is no further than paying a bit more for better ingredients and staff.

There was a time when P.F. Chang's — both the brand and the food — just seemed wonderfully fresh. Anyone who has visited lately know that is no longer the case. And changing from one P.E. firm to another is not really the traditional way to reinvigorate a tired brand.

In a perfect world, we could hit a big button that would reset menu prices, staff wages, expectations, and more and solve problems like this. Of course, that button doesn't exist, so we'll need to muddle through these cases that force companies to treat tipped workers fairly.
